Posfront Studio is booking and scheduling software for independent beauty artists. Two different people read this page, and the answer is different for each.
If you are an artist, we hold your account and your business records. If you are a client booking an appointment, your details belong to the artist you booked with. We hold them to manage that booking and, if you choose optional texts, to send its confirmation.
What we hold about an artist
- Your email address and password, kept by our authentication provider. We never see the password itself.
- Your business name, working name, booking link, phone number, city and studio address.
- Your service menu, prices, working hours, blackout dates and booking limits.
- Your own ledger entries — what you record as taken and spent.
What we hold about a client
Only what an artist needs to run the appointment, and only what was typed into her booking form or her own client list:
- Name, phone number and email address.
- The appointment itself: service, price, date and time, and whether it is in her studio or at your address.
- For a mobile appointment, the address you are asking her to come to.
- Anything the artist notes about the booking, and a cap size if she records one.
- Your answers to questions the studio sets for the service. We save the questions and answers with that booking request so later menu edits do not change its history.
- Reference photos you optionally attach to a booking request, and any approximate or final consultation quote you review or accept.
- Before and after appointment photos the studio takes with your permission.
- If you choose optional appointment texts, your choice, the consent wording shown to you, your phone number and the time you agreed.
- If you ask for a cancellation-opening email, your name, email address, chosen studio, service and date, plus confirmation, delivery and opt-out status.
We do not build a booking profile across artists. A client who books two different artists has separate booking records, and each artist can see only her own.
Cancellation-opening emails are optional. We first email a confirmation link; an alert becomes active only after you use it. We send at most one opening alert for that request, and each email has a link to stop future opening alerts for that studio. We keep a studio-specific suppression record after you stop them so another form submission cannot sign that address up again. Opening alerts do not reserve an appointment.
Reference photos stay in private storage for the studio you booked with. They are not published in the artist's portfolio or shared with other studios. The artist uses them to review your request and prepare a quote. Ask the artist before sending photos of anyone else.
A studio may separately save before and after appointment photos with your permission. Those photos are private appointment records and are not automatically published in a public portfolio.
Payments
Deposits are handled entirely by Stripe, and the artist is the merchant — the money goes to her account, not through ours. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's own payment page and never touch our software. We store nothing but whether a deposit was paid.
Who else sees any of it
These services process booking information for the features you use. Text delivery providers receive a phone number only when that text program is enabled and you opt in. None is an advertising company:
- Vercel — hosts the booking website.
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles artist sign-in.
- Resend — sends booking confirmations, reminders, receipts and optional cancellation-opening emails.
- Stripe — takes deposits, as above.
- Geoapify — helps search for a venue address and calculate travel pricing when you enter a location for a mobile appointment.
- Twilio — delivers an optional booking confirmation text only for studios using their own approved texting service and clients who checked the text consent box.
- Sent — can deliver optional Posfront booking texts only if the Posfront text program is enabled for a studio and the client checks the consent box.
If you agree to a booking text, we share the phone number and message with the text delivery provider only to send that confirmation. We do not sell mobile information or share it with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes.
Reply STOP to the number that sent an appointment text to opt out of further texts from that sender. For help with Posfront texts, reply HELP or email hello@posfront.com. Opting out of texts does not prevent booking updates by email.
We do not sell anything to anybody, and there is no advertising or tracking software in either the app or the booking page. Outside the providers named here, information leaves only if the law requires it.
How long it is kept
An artist's records are kept while her account is open. Account closure includes removing private photos from storage before deleting their booking and appointment records. A booking request that is never answered expires after 48 hours. A request and its optional reference photos, quote, and service question answers may remain in the studio's records after the request expires, until the artist deletes them or closes the account.
We keep a separate record of optional text consent and its send status even if the booking or studio account is deleted. It contains the phone number, consent wording and time, booking and studio reference numbers, the booking page link when recorded, and the message status. We use it to check consent and resolve delivery questions. A daily cleanup deletes consent and send records once they are more than 24 months old. Contact us to ask for access or deletion; we review requests against any remaining legal obligations.
Optional cancellation-opening requests expire after the date you chose in the studio's time zone. We delete the request and its email delivery history 90 days after that date. If you used the stop link, we keep a separate studio-specific email suppression record so later forms cannot sign that address up again; you can contact us to request its removal.
Asking for your information, or its removal
Artists can see and edit everything in the app itself. Clients should ask the artist they booked with — she holds the record and can change or delete it. If she cannot help, write to us and we will act on her behalf.
Children
The app is for professional artists and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly hold information about anyone under 13.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it and artists are told by email.
